PARENT TRAPPED

My cute friends threw me the most AMAZING surprise birthday party in the world the other day. One texted me asking if we could go get a treat because she was having a rough day. She said another was still getting hair done. I texted my friend across the street and offered to bring by some biscuits I had made. I got to Sydney’s house and asked what she wanted to go do. SHOCK she had a blindfold. I still didn’t get it. I thought maybe she was taking me to dinner or to go get a treat. We showed up to Navy’s house and THIS. The CUTEST Parent Trap party in the world. Camp Walden shirts custom made by Sydney, banners and signs she designed and printed, a delicious cake and dessert she made. Balloons and the movie and all the magic, music, flowers, provided by Navy. An entire poker game with nail polish and candy, Evian water with the tiny lizards from Kat. Chili and cornbread that was SO good from Catherine. It was all so perfect I wanted to die! PLUS they all gave me such thoughtful gifts. Like how in the world did I land these friends?? I’m truly the luckiest person alive.

WELLS WALKS

August 8th, Wells took a couple of steps and then REFUSED to do it again. August 16th, Mom was at the office all day. And Wells decides it’s a great day to stand up and WALK. And he can’t be stopped! He walks ALL over, kicks balls, and is just a full on big kid now. It’s WILD and it happened overnight.

We had a last family run to Cherry Hill and are gearing up for the fall weather. Life feels like it moves too fast, this summer has gone by too quickly. But there are always fun and amazing things ahead.

Wells lives his best life with a treat in each hand.

August

August has been a dream with Graham helping Dad mow the lawn, trips out to the bird refuge, family dinners, tons of time with neighbors and friends, Cherry Hill days, and more. We have had the best summer and it’s so sad that it’s coming to an end.

Fishing Trip

We had a great time going fishing in Idaho. We enjoyed Reed’s Dairy a few times and took the boys to Smitty’s. The boys stayed at Aunt Barb’s house while we went fishing and had the BEST time playing with all the fun toys. We had a great time on the river and caught a few fish, saw a moose SO close. It was awesome to be with my grandpa and hear his stories and get to spend quality time together. I’ll never forget our time on the river and the time we get to spend together while we are there.

We always talk about my Uncle Joe, Grandpa growing up on the farm, the first time he went fishing, it’s always the best time.

Bear Lake Camping

The month of July has been jam packed with fun! We have a summer bucket list and we’ve spent a lot of time getting everything on it checked off. We went and fed the ducks and had a lemon freeze which was a delicious summer treat! Both of the boys loved feeding the ducks and Wells even said Duck and Quack while we were there! He also has started to say cheese, water, Graham, dog, woof, and the list goes on. We went to the Aquarium with Courtney and Tommy and the boys loved every second! Wells spent most of the time with Courtney, looking at fish and pointing at them and making sounds. They loved it so much!

We went to Bear Lake with my family and it was a blast!!! We rented an AirBnb and stayed with Ben and Kim in the house. It was a sweet little country house. We spent most of the time up at the camping ground with the RV. Graham loved running around in the forest, playing with Walkie Talkies, stickers, making bracelets, etc. We went on a great hike, ate delicious food, played in the dirt, played games, threw frisbees, etc. The next day we went out to the lake and the boys had the BEST time at the beach and in the water. We paddle boarded, kayaked, and had truly the best time. It was amazing to spend all the time with family and eating smores around the fire. Graham cried the night before we left because he was so sad about having to leave and go home. He said he always wanted to go camping. We took a scenic route home and loved driving trough the open countryside and mountains. It was a vacation we won’t forget!

4th of July

We had a great fourth of July weekend/week with lots of family and fun. At the Kaysville parade a little girl was killed on a float and that was horrible. It made the day feel somber as we thought about our privilege to have our family and how to better appreciate each other. It made the day a more thoughtful one, but I was grateful for the way our community came together in the wake of a tragedy.

We started the day with a patriotic breakfast while Randy ran the 10k and took SECOND. So proud.

Then off to the parade, a family BBQ, and the fireworks. It was a different year but the boys had SO much fun playing with friends and family, seeing fireworks, and eating delicious food. The hometown 4th of July is one of my favorite things!

The week after the 4th Randy didn’t have to work so we went to Cherry Hill, the Children’s Museum, and got to spend lots of time together. The boys have LOVED Cherry Hill this summer and are pros at our weekly excursions. The Children’s Museum was so fun and full of great activities the boys loved.

And I finished my MBA! I started in January while Randy was in busy season and plowed through, finishing in 6 months. I loved my courses, particularly learning about Accounting, Data Analysis, Marketing, etc. Randy was amazing and so supportive whether helping me with homework or taking care of the family. I’m so lucky and so proud.

The summer has been so good to us already and I can’t wait to see how the rest of our summer goes. It’s already moving too fast and I’m just trying to soak in every last moment.

Forced Family Fun

Hiking, swimming, s’mores, lunch, and cousin time. It was SO fun to get to be together with everyone spending time with cousins and eating yummy food. The summer has already been amazing and we’re so excited for another two months of fun!

Wells is ONE

Wells is ONE. I can’t believe it. He is curious, happy, goofy, funny, sweet, fearless, and everything wonderful.

We spent the day having fun, opening presents, eating cake, getting McDonald’s, swimming, and really just having a blast. I’m not sure how he got so old and where the time went, but I’m so happy he’s ours.

Happy, happy birthday to my baby boy.
