At least they broke 100

So yesterday out of the blue, I get a text from Drew asking if I want to go to the Jazz game. Umm….is that even a question!? So my two best friends grabbed some guys, and we all headed to watch the Jazz lose to the Nuggets in an embarrassing display of athletics. It was incredibly fun:)

November 11: Today I am grateful for my country. We are so blessed to live in this land, and I am so thankful for those who have fought, and continue to fight, to make this land free. God bless America!
November 12: Today I am grateful for my job. I am absolutely in love with what I do and I can’t imagine myself doing anything else for a career. I have amazing co-workers who have made me feel at home so quickly, my bosses are awesome, and I can honestly say I come into work every day, loving what I do.
So how should you make today more than average? Sometimes, when someone asks you to just go do something, don’t think. Just do it!

When I am abandoned I eat Panda and ice cream

November 8–I am so grateful for Edna, my car. I miss Jasmine, my old 1994 Nissan Altima, but I love my Corolla like nobody’s business. I am also grateful for my awesome parents and grandparents who made it possible for me to have her. I love you Edna!

November 9–Vacuumed floors. I can’t explain it, but there’s something so magical about a floor that’s be thoroughly vacuumed. It’s so wonderful. I guess you could say I’m grateful I grew up in a spotless house and learned how to clean (thanks Mom!) but yeah. Floors that have a vacuum run over them are the quickest way to my heart.

This is what’s been up:

DI with this guy….always a pleasure.

Old roomies reunite!! Only half of us still live in this country…so that’s fun.

When Drew leaves me for Vegas…I party too hard and eat ice cream for breakfast.
Can I share some thoughts?
Happiness is a choice. I’m sure I’ve posted something similar to this and it’s probably totally redundant. But it needs to be said. Last night there was gut-splitting laughter and rolling on the floor in this apartment. We are all stressed out of our minds. I feel inadequate to everything I’m supposed to be doing. But it’s ok. Because in the end everything works out. And even if I fail at all the things I’m supposed to do, the sunrise was still beautiful this morning. The fall leaves are still picturesque. There are still sweaters to wear. Hot chocolate that needs to be made and drunk. There are still scriptures to be read and cried over, and little kids running up and down the stairs to laugh with. So even though things are hard, they are still so good.
I think that’s why I love November. It’s such a perfect time to remember that there are a million little things, and a million big things, that I have to be grateful for. The rest doesn’t matter.
Happy Saturday everyone:)

Take Me Home

First off. I just barely published the post I was supposed to do yesterday. Oops….don’t judge!

November 6–I am grateful for mugs. There’s something so perfect about drinking hot chocolate or milk or water or juice, or really anything, out of a mug. It has a handle for Pete’s sake!

November 7–I am grateful for heated leather seats in cars. No my car does not have heated seats, but I think I appreciate them more because I don’t have them. Or something like that.

Folks, I’m really happy.

I need to post this song because it is WONDERFUL. It’ll make your day more than average for sure.

If you haven’t heard of Us, don’t fret. I hadn’t heard of them until a little while ago. But they are amazing. You will be glad you listened.

Also. I have to work early in the morning. So I went down to my car at 6:45 this morning, and there was a creepy guy in a hood, waiting by my car. Drew didn’t have to be at class until like 8 and came down to the freezing garage just to say good morning. He’s a keeper:)

Happy Thursday everyone!

Just a few things…

So we’re changing up the blog a bit. After talking to Steph from Six Sisters Stuff, I realized I needed to make my blog a little more constructive. I’m not sure that I’m really great at any one particular thing, so I want to make this a mash up of all the wonderful things that people like reading.

I am just an average redhead, but I think I have lots of days that a more than average. So I’m going to blog about things that either made my day more than average, or things that could potentially make your day more than average!

Yes this is another re-vamp to the blog, and it probably won’t be the last one. But that’s ok:)

So let’s try this out for a while and see how it goes, eh?

Also, it’s November! Last November I did something I was grateful for for every day of the month, and I want to do that again! I know I’m already behind, oops….but let’s get to it. Last year I started out with the big things, and this year I want to start out with the smaller things and move up to the bigger ones. This isn’t to lay out an order of what’s most important to me at all, I just want to save the biggest things for last:)

So. Here we go:)

1: Daylight Savings. Today it was seriously the best thing ever. I watched the clock change from 1:59 to 1:00 and it was awesome! (Mom I was helping a friend, that’s why I was still up.)

2: Painted fingernails. Shallow? Yes. But seriously there are few things I love more than having painted nails.

3:  Boots. Ok it’s fall, sweaters and boots are a must right now. And I seriously love boots so much! They are wonderful, they keep you warm, etc. etc. It’s great:)

So now that you’ve read all this boring stuff, here’s some pictures for my Visual Literacy Photography Project. They were super fun to take:)

Happy Sunday everyone!

Day late for Halloween

So yesterday was Halloween. And it was wonderful! Let me tell you about it:)

So I went to work and school (bleh) and that was all normal. BUT THEN. I got home and we started having fun. We lit a couple dozen tea lights and had them all over the apartment. Ethan played some pretty creepy music. And we cooked. More accurately, Heidi cooked. Guys. This girl is domestic. And crafty. And wonderful. So line up boys, I promise you’ll want to wife her.

So Heidi made the following delicious foods. No I don’t have pictures of them all because I’m stupid, but seriously it was so good.

–Chips and Queso (Frankenstein’s Skin and Ogre Guts)
–Mummy Dogs (Hot dogs with crescent rolls wrapped around to look like mummies. SO cute)
–Monster faces (Biscuits with pizza sauce, mozerella, and pepperoni in a face shape)
–Monster Smiles (Apples, peanut butter, and almonds)
–Witches fingers (Parmesan breadsticks with a food-colored almond for a nail)
–Apple dip, I think we called it Ogre Brains or something (seriously I don’t know what’s in this, but it’s SO amazing)
–Punch (Ginger ale, frozen raspberry lemonade, dry ice. It’s to die for)

There were probably other things but I don’t remember what they were! The long story short is, Heidi is amazing and is basically a Pinterst goddess. Thanks Heidi:)

Drew and I dressed up in matching jerseys and snapbacks. So basically we were tools for Halloween. Or Drew dressed up like himself…kidding:)

We went to his cousin’s house and played with his cousin’s baby who was ADORABLE and then we went to my brother’s house and hung out with my brother and sister in law, which was great:)

Then it was back to the apartments to watch Wait Until Dark and hang out with the roomies. And Heidi told me about the scary story they watched and I almost started to cry.

I don’t usually like Halloween, but this one was fantastic:)

Happy Friday, Happy November, Happy The-Day-After-Halloween.

Happy weekend everyone:)

Finding the niche

So today for my radio job I got the chance to talk to STEPH from SIX SISTERS STUFF. I know, right? She’s amazing. They’re amazing. Her interview will be on byuradio.org or Sirius XM 143 soon. I’ll let y’all know, you don’t wanna miss it.

But anyway, one of the questions I asked her was what the most important piece of advice she could give to bloggers. She said it was to find what you’re good at, and to blog about that. To find a niche in the blogging community.

So now I’m wondering what my “niche” is.

So bear with me while I continue to try to figure that out. I thought I had, but maybe not. Let me know what you think:)

Also. Happy Wednesday everyone. I may have written Thursday and then had to change it. It’s been one of those weeks. But really. Have a great day:)

That one weekend

So my life rocks.

I love my job. Nationwide radio rocks.

Friday we crushed Boise State and truck Filipino food basically rocks.

Saturday involved a crazy intense intramural football game, a great drive back to Kaysville, time with my awesome family, a beautiful wedding reception, dinner and shopping in Salt Lake, and getting to spend all day with this guy.

Welcome to the roller coaster that is my life. Can’t wait to see where it takes me!
Happy Sunday everyone!

Life is happening

The days keep getting away from me! Sadly, blogging is moving further and further down my priority list. But I will get to it. Promise.

So this is how my life has been happening:

After studying my life away, I go on bowling/pizza dates with this crazy guy. Or we eat Samoan food. And don’t carve our pumpkin.

I go on drives with Rachel to see the beautiful earth while singing along to EFY music. Utah is fantastic especially in the fall. Take a drive up the canyon friends. It’s worth it.

I get free Frosty’s with this cute girl before we spend the remainder of the evening studying. All I do is study.

Cliche photo? Yes. But I sure do love sweaters and boots and all the fall leaves when I walk around campus. It’s crisp and fresh outside, a little cold which I wish would disappear, but it’s still delightful. I haven’t had time to make hot chocolate and soup like I would like, but still. It’s fall y’all.
My dear friend JD turned 22 yesterday, so we went to karaoke. Naturally. And yes, he sang 22 at the top of his lungs to celebrate. It was a great night.
Oh and this kid sang. He’s pretty good I guess…hahaha he’s amazing actually.

Happy Wednesday everyone:)

It’s Saturday already??

Holy heavens dear little blog. You are being neglected. It’s sad really. But never fear! I will still write whenever I can. Even though I hardly ever have pictures to post because I don’t take them :/ I’m sorry dear friends.

Thursday I got to spend time with my family at Cornbelly’s Corn Maze at Thanksgiving Point because my sisters are on UEA break! Can I just say, my family is the best:) They seriously can make my stress level go from a million to zero in like two seconds. My family is too fun and I just love spending time with them.

Aren’t we so cute?

Oh and I got to ride a mechanical bull. So that was cool:)

I am in the midst of midterms and it is stressss. But I love college so much. I went on SUCH a fun date yesterday. It was awesome. And I did my first radio interview and it should be on air some time soon:) Possibly Monday at 7 AM? Check out BYU Radio at that time to hear it:)

Most of my friends are on missions and they are doing amazing. I love getting letters from them:)

My friends that actually live in this country are doing amazing as well:) They are way too good to me and I just love them.

And my roommates. Goll I’m lucky. Pazookies and dance parties and laughing and drama. Ooooh it’s the best:)

Life is good! I don’t know how I’m so happy, mostly I’m just a ball of stress. But happy stress! If that’s a thing. Anywho. Life is great. Hope yours is too.

Happy Saturday everyone:)

Just a little bit of everything

Friends, life is busy. And for some reason I’m still ridiculously happy. Which is weird…but so good.

This is also true.
Things that I have already learned this week:
–Sometimes radio interviews fall through. Move on.
–A bowl of candy in your apartment is always a good idea.
–Missionary letters are the best things ever.
–You can become incredibly close to someone really fast.
–People will disappoint you. But it’s ok.
–Sleep is a necessity and I put it last SO often.
–I took the time I had to actually cook food last year for granted.
–My family ROCKS.
–My friends? They ALSO rock.
That’s it.
Happy Wednesday y’all!
