A few months ago we knew Randy would be having his fall break in October, and with the upcoming CPA and then starting his accounting job, we knew we wanted to go on a family trip while we had the chance!

So we booked tickets to the next U.S. city we were wanting to see, Washington D.C.!!

We had SO much fun in D.C. and I still can’t believe how much we got done, all the yummy food we ate, and more.

Day 1: Got to the airport and Graham ran around making everyone smile. We got on the plane and saw a friend from Kaysville also heading to DC. Graham was great on the flight and watched a show, ate snacks, played with stickers. We had a short layover in Minneapolis where Randy saw the Prince store and was so excited! Grabbed McDonald’s for lunch and had to bring it on the plane because our layover was so short. Graham napped a little and was really great on the second plane ride too. He watched shows and colored and was so well behaved!
When we landed in D.C. we took a taxi to our hotel which was on the Wharf and was soooo beautiful! We saw the Washington Monument and Jefferson Memorial on our way to the hotel.
We went to grab a lobster roll at a food truck and a Milk Bar cookie, then off to bed!

Day 2: We woke up at 8 and had hotel breakfast. Graham loved the donuts! We figured out the local shuttle to the National Mall and had a blast walking around. We saw the Washington Monument, MLK, WWI AND WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and Lincoln memorials/monuments. Randy and I came around the corner and you can just see Lincoln sitting in the monument, and we both teared up. Korea and MLK also made me very teary. When we walked to Vietnam there was a high school class there walking by in silence and that was cool to see. We went up town to eat lunch at Le Diplomate, grabbed a Shake Shack concrete while we waited and had a delicious lunch. Randy had duck and I had mussels. We had an amazing dessert! We went back to the Mall and Graham fell asleep while we were at the Holocaust museum. It was amazing but so sad and hard. We went back to the hotel and walked around the wharf, grabbed some Shake Shack for dinner and then had a lonnnnnng night where G didn’t want to sleep!

Day 3: We woke up very early after not a ton of sleep to go to the White House. Hopped in a taxi and met up with Dallin in front of the White House and he took our stroller and backpack. We went through security and someone in front of us tried to bring in a razor blade! It was hilarious. We got into the White House and it was so amazing. Secret service said the rooms we were in are used all the time. We took pictures and had a blast. We got our stuff back from Dallin and had a delicious breakfast with him at Founding Farmers. We went to the Air and Space Museum and Graham loved playing with the buttons and seeing the planes. He was getting tired so we went to the National Gallery of Art while he slept. We saw some of our very favorite painters and it was perfect. We went back to hotel to rest for a few minutes and then it was off to the Capitol tour. The tour guide was great and told us all these fun stories about the building, statues, and more. After the tour we went to Chinatown area to have dinner. We went back to the National Mall and met up with my dad! It was a blast to hang out and to see the mall at night.
Got to the hotel and put G down, went and got Ben and Jerry’s for a treat!

Day 4: Randy woke up and went for a bike ride around the National Mall, and we he got back we had breakfast in the hotel. We got a taxi and went to Arlington National Cemetery. We loved seeing the changing of the guard and a wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
We saw the graves of all the Kennedy family, Martin Ginsburg, Thurgood Marshall, and President Taft. We took the metro to Georgetown and had lunch at an Italian restaurant called Il Canale. Delicious pasta and pizza! We taste tested Baked and Wired, Laudre macaroons, Olivia Macaroons. We shopped the expensive stores and walked up to Georgetown. Tried to take a water taxi but we missed it by just a few minutes which was a bummer! We went to Hanks Oysters for dinner and had oysters and clams and lobster. Ben and Jerry’s for dessert and wandering around the wharf which was a blast.

Day 5: We had a slow morning and had hotel breakfast. We went to the Washington Monument gift shop, then grabbed a snack and waited for the Museum of Natural History to open. G LOVED the giant elephant and the animals, buttons, and everything. We loved the gems and jewelry.  We then went to The Hamilton which was so swanky and fun and delicious!!!! We shopped for a little bit in downtown, saw fords theater and the IRS and a few other buildings.
We walked to the National Portrait Gallery which was beautiful. We loved the presidential portraits and the In Mid Sentence photos. The suffrage and civil war photos were also amazing. We went to grab some gelato from Dolcezza which was super yummy.
We went to the museum of American History and saw the 1st lady dresses which were sooo beautiful. Saw the actual flag that was the inspiration for the Star Spangled Banner which was breathtaking. The George Washington by Horatio Greenbourgh was really cool. The ruby slippers and Captain America shield was cool. Met up with Dallin at Nandos and had a delicious dinner. We had to have Ben and Jerry’s dessert again to eat our feelings with how sad we were to leave D.C.

We decorated for fall this week and I’m so excited! Fall is my favorite time of the year and I’m so stoked to have sweater weather with Graham.

We went and saw Downton Abbey and had a delicious sushi dinner and it was a blast!! The movie was SOOOO good and perfect if you like the show. Love spending time with my fam!

Fall means these DELICIOUS pumpkin cookies and time with friends.

We had fun at Ashley’s wedding, until we took away Grahams popcorn and then he was NOT happy.
Right now Graham is obsessed with popcorn, stickers, drumming, his music class, saying AHH after taking a drink, magazines, pictures of Jesus, anything with buttons or makes sounds, Fish Crackers, RAMEN NOODLES (like his dad!), reading books, music and dancing, and I’m wildly obsessed with him.

This sweet young man in our ward loves playing with Graham during Sacrament Meeting. It just made me think that if Christ were in our sacrament meetings, he would be with the kids. Making sure they felt loved and seen. So my worship doesn’t have to mean silence and stillness. I can find Christ anytime.

GAH I love fall clothes on my baby!

We had to say goodbye to Clint this week and it was SO sad. Graham and Clint have such a sweet little relationship and it’s going to be so hard to be apart! But Indonesia is so lucky to have him there, and I know he’s going to have the best time.

Graham has been getting sick and it’s been a really rough week, but it’s also been so fun!

YUMMIEST ZUCCHINI BREAD EVER

We headed up the canyon for a bonfire with friends and had the BEST time. Graham loved the fire and the outdoors and we just had a blast.

Our Labor Day weekend was a blast! We had a blast hanging out with family, of course on actual Labor Day Randy had to go into school for a while. But then Graham and I went and met him downtown and we went to the children’s museum, which was SO fun. Graham had such a blast there. We made yummy food and played around all weekend. It was so much fun!

August was SO much fun! We did so many great things and had a blast saying goodbye to summer.

Graham has been RANDOMLY deciding to go into downward dog. It CRACKS me up!

Uncle Clint and Uncle Sam gave a duo farewell/homecoming talk and it was SO good. Graham has the best uncles and I’m so excited to see how much fun Clint has.

G is a major fan of chocolate ice cream.

This picture was taken just a few minutes before Graham biffed it walking into church, started bleeding and crying and ruined both of our clothes. Luckily he’s totally fine!

Randy started school! He’s having a good time so far, preparing for the CPA is already stressful but he’s loving grad school!

Graham and my dad played dice for like AN HOUR the other day. It was SO cute.

Randy and I got to go to a Bee’s game thanks to my office, and we had a blast! We went to Pleiku for dinner, our favorite restaurant, where a guy was puking SO LOUDLY in the bathroom. Then at the game this little girl was lost and we helped her and security find her parents. It was very eventful, but so fun!

Graham is just growing up so fast. I love him and can’t believe how lucky I am to be his mama.

It’s been a crazy few weeks! Randy is home from his trip and we’ve been having a great time as summer is winding down. I can’t believe summer is almost over! It’s insane!

But we had the BEST thing EVER happen when Uncle Sam came home! He had a great mission in Tokyo but we are SO glad he’s home! Randy was actually still out of town when Sam got home which was hilarious, but he got home the very next day which was awesome. Graham is warming up to his uncle really well and it’s great.

We had a great time with the entire Low family in one place. It was heaven!

Summer is going too fast but we are soaking up every minute!

We’ve had such a fun time this July! We’ve been working, playing, swimming, going to eat fun food, hanging with family and friends, and more!

Randy is out of town so we went to Cherry Hill, and of course Graham’s favorite part is when we eat crackers.

We went downtown and decided to go see the Salt Lake temple. Graham absolutely loved it and wanted to knock on the doors to go in!

Pioneer Day started with a delicious breakfast with my mom and sister. Graham just loves them!

All in all we’ve had a great summer. It’s gone by way too fast, but it’s been so fun.

This weekend we went to the Love Letters Museum in Salt Lake City and it was so fun! Such a cute little pop-up museum all about books and letters and words. Graham had a blast and there were so many fun things to do, from making a button and stamp, to writing a letter, to playing in a giant confetti pit.

Since becoming a mom, going on outings like this has become a little more stressful and requires more planning. One of the biggest things I didn’t expect is that my wardrobe would drastically change when I became a mom. Basically I want everything I wear to be super comfortable and practical for running around with G.

I used to think I couldn’t wear jumpsuits. OH WAS I WRONG. People ask me alllll the time if it’s annoying to go to the bathroom in a jumpsuit or if they’re too short/tall for a jumpsuit and the answer is EVERYONE CAN ROCK A JUMPSUIT. It’s not a hassle AT ALL. In fact, I prefer jumpsuits to most other clothing. And here is why:

1. It’s much easier than jeans and dresses to bend over, run around, chase Graham, etc. I don’t have to worry about pulling my shirt down or my pants up to keep me covered, I don’t have to worry about a skirt going a little too high, I’M ALL GOOD.
2. They look SO dressy but are comfy! Jumpsuits are classic and look like you’re tailored and elegant, but they are so comfy!
3. They are SO easy to accessorize. Throw on a necklace, jacket, sweater, blazer, or coat and you have a brand new outfit. Or just wear your jumpsuit as-is and it’s STILL perfect. There are a million options with one piece of clothing.

There is one complaint I hear about all the time when it comes to jumpsuits. They don’t transition well around motherhood. You get pregnant and they don’t fit or you can’t nurse with them. BUT WAIT. ENTER PINKBLUSH.

PinkBlush is a maternity clothing store that has outfits for when you’re pregnant, when you’re nursing, and when you’re not pregnant. ALL OF THEM IN ONE STORE. Their stuff is SO cute and perfect for mamas. I actually got my delivery robe and my maternity picture dress from PinkBlush as well, and wore both of them while pregnant, and I still wear them all the time since having Graham as well. That’s honestly one of my favorite things about PinkBlush; I wasn’t all about buying a ton of clothes I could ONLY wear when I was pregnant. Their options are perfect for while you’re pregnant, and after you’ve had your baby as well!

This Peach Ruffle Sleeve Smocked Waist Jumpsuit is just another one of their perfect options. It was SO great to wear to the Love Letters museum because I looked and felt more dressed up for a day downtown, but could go down the slide and play with Graham with no problems. I’m telling you, jumpsuits are a mom’s best friend.

And this jumpsuit has the CUTEST square neck and ruffle sleeve, setting it apart from other jumpsuits, and the smocked waist is GENIUS because I ate cookies for breakfast and the smocked waist made me feel so confident. It’s also going to be perfect when we decide to have another baby, because I know it will transition SO well as a maternity jumpsuit.

Basically, go out and buy yourself a jumpsuit, or something else from PinkBlush because they seriously know how to take care of women, from maternity clothing to mama clothing, I can’t recommend them enough!

Our 4th of July was a blast!

Randy woke up early and went to run a 10K (he got 6th place and did great!!)

I made some celebratory waffles that turned out a little light colored hahaha but it was good!

We went to the parade and Graham had a blast! He waved and clapped and thought all the floats were so cool. Everyone thought he was so cute and wanted to give him candy!

We went to Red Robin for lunch and it was delicious! We ran home for Graham to take a nap and we played games and took a nap.

We then went over to Randy’s parent’s house and had a great time playing with Charlotte and grandma and grandpa!

After that, we went off to my parent’s house to get ready for the fireworks. It was raining off and on, we made popcorn and had candy and apple pie. We went back and forth about going to the fireworks and we ended up going over, when it started raining so we packed back up and watched the fireworks on my parent’s driveway.

It was a wonderful day, but my favorite moment was when Graham and I were driving to the parade. We were listening to Hamilton and the line “the world turned upside down” just made me cry. I was filled with so much gratitude for the people who worked and fought to give me the life I have. And I’m so grateful for people like that today who are turning our world upside down to continue to make it a place where everyone is safe and welcome. Just so full of love and gratitude! USA!!!
