The Rest Of Summer

The rest of our summer FLEW by. It was a wonderful time but it went by way too fast. We celebrated Liv’s wedding (I’m still waiting for pictures!) and it was the perfect night! So much fun with a beautiful ceremony, lots of delicious donuts, dancing! Shawn and Liv are the sweetest couple and we are so happy for their family!

We enjoyed going to see the Barbie movie and dressing up in pink with our friends. The movie was SPECTACULAR and I could go on and on about it. Just a great commentary about women and motherhood and everything.

We had a super fun murder mystery night with our friends and it was the BEST. Delicious food and a super fun mystery!

We went to the rock house, spent time on the lake, and had the best weekend with friends hanging out and eating delicious food. It was a highlight of summer for sure!

We visited Grandpa Rod in the hospital. He has been having a difficult time getting healthy, but it was wonderful to all be together to see him.

We had a super fun cousin day at the dinosaur exhibit at Thanksgiving Pointe! The kids LOVED the dinos and Wells couldn’t stop rawring!

We enjoyed the lantern festival extensively as our send off to summer. We decorated lanterns and sent them off into the darkness and we loved it so much!

We said goodbye to Grandma and Grandpa Low. We held a surprise dinner where they had started cooking (ha!) but they were so surprised and happy. We watched them get set apart and we were so sad. Our kids will miss them so much and so will we, but we are so happy for them. After visa issues they are in Japan as of today, and we are thrilled for them!

Our back to school dinner was so fun and we are kind of sad at how old our kids are getting. Graham started KINDERGARTEN and did such a great job on his first day. He was nervous and has been nervous off and on, but he has been so brave. He told us he doesn’t want to be anything when he grows up, that he wants to stay a kid. I hope he will.

4th of July and Taylor Swift

July is halfway done and it’s been a WILD one already!

4th of July, The Rocket Summer concert, Taylor Swift, we’ve been running nonstop so far and it’s not going to stop!

On July 3rd we almost got rained out of our first neighborhood 4th of July Bike Parade! Lucky the showers stopped and we had a blast biking around the block and hanging out at the park. It was SUCH a good night and we are hoping will be a fun tradition for the neighborhood!

We enjoyed pancakes with strawberries and blue syrup for 4th of July breakfast, we went to the Kaysville parade and the boys were in heaven! Plenty of candy and fun. We had a family BBQ and then watched Hamilton and napped! Then back to Kaysville for the fireworks. It was a great way to celebrate our country and help our boys learn about the great things that have happened, and the work we have left to do!

We had a dad day at Cherry Hill which the boys LOVED. We’ve tried to go every week and have had a blast having that be our summer getaway place, and showing it to dad was so fun!

Dad and Mom went to see The Rocket Summer and the boys had a blast with the nanny Noelia. That was the lead up to the BIG concert of July, Taylor Swift! Mom and Dad had a blast with their weekend away and the boys had so much fun with Grandma and Grandpa. Taylor Swift was a dream come true and was a life changing experience. Driving to Denver and flying home was so much fun, there was delicious food and amazing outfits, making videos, hanging with friends and family, it was just the best time!

June

In June when we weren’t at Disneyland and celebrating Wells, we spent a LOT of time doing tball games and playing with friends outside. June was so mild it made it the perfect opportunity for outside games and time with friends. And ice cream, which Wells had NO patience to wait for.

Graham did SO great this year in tball and was a great centerfielder and batter. He learned to run to the right base and could hit it off the tee every time.

We enjoyed Syracuse days celebrating our city with our friends. The boys had a BLAST.

It was a magical month of summer that we won’t forget!

Born 2 Rock

Wells turned TWO after we got home from Disneyland and we had a BLAST celebrating him. We woke up early in the morning to give him his very own DRUM SET which was immediately a hit. He and all the kids throughout the day were obsessed. Our little drummer dude was ready to PARTY. We went to the Trampoline Park to let him party, ate cookies and McDonald’s, and had a blast.

His party was the next day and that was a RIOT. We had a ton of friends and family over to celebrate Wells. Of course we had a music themed birthday (BORN 2 ROCK) because Wells is obsessed. He loved blasting music over Alexa, getting a full tattoo sleeve, and eating cupcakes. This dude is SO loved and we are beyond lucky to have him be part of our family.

This year Wells has grown up SO much. He is a little parrot and repeats whatever we say, speaking in full sentences all the time. He loves being read to, is obsessed with food, is a great sleeper, loves all things music, wants to watch Spidey and Lightyear all the time, is a huge Gabby’s Dollhouse fan, is a big adventure guy and always wants to try something new. Wells has no fear, has a huge heart and always wants to make sure others are OK, is so curious, funny, loves his brother so much and begs to see him once he wakes up, and is growing up too fast. We love our little Wells!

DISNEYLAND

Our Disneyland trip was a trip of dreams. We surprised the boys and it turned out to be the best thing ever! We went with friends and with Grandma and Grandpa Low and it was honestly too much fun!

We had kept it a secret from the boys for MONTHS and we almost let it out a couple of times. When the day finally came we told the boys we needed to go to the city and run an errand. We got to the airport and asked the boys if they knew where we were. They said no…we told them we were at the airport to go to Disneyland right that second! Graham started hopping around like a frog because he was so shocked! It was adorable and sweet.

The trip was truly incredible. We ate delicious food, rode every ride multiple times, Graham got to go on Indiana Jones for the first time, the boys loved the parades and the fireworks, they were such troopers. Graham’s favorite rides were Star Tours, Indiana Jones, Buzz Blasters, Toy Story Mania, Dumbo, Radiator Springs Racers, Teacups, and pretty much everything there was there.

Wells was in AWE of Buzz Blasters and begged to go constantly, telling us in a serious voice he was going to FIGHT ZURG and punching the air to demonstrate. He loved Mater’s ride, Toy Story Mania, meeting the characters, and every snack. He did a great job of coming back to nap every day, but he was CRAZY about his shoes! He would not keep them on no matter what we did! It was hilarious and also mind-boggling!

Disneyland was as magical as always and we can’t wait to be back.

Graham’s Birthday

It’s hard to believe Graham is five! It seems like yesterday we brought him home from the hospital. He has grown and flourished into such a sensitive, smart, fun, imaginative, sweet kid. We are beyond lucky he’s in our family. Graham can read, do math problems, he loves tball, imagination games, can memorize things so quickly, loves to color and be outside, is obsessed with Spidey, PJ Masks, Mario, and Pokemon, and is the best kid ever.

For his birthday we opened presents early, then he got to go to school, we went an stuffed his Bowser Build a Bear, had McDonald’s for dinner, and went to his tball game. Then we had cake and grandparent gifts after.

His birthday party was a HIT with Mario cupcakes, obstacle courses, games, masks, and 20 of his closest friends. Every day the list grew and grew with more people he wanted to invite! It was such a fun time and he loved every second of it.

We can’t wait to see what amazing things Graham will do in his 5th year.

May

It’s wild how things move faster as our kids grow up. To think that Graham finished his second year of preschool is insane, and summer is nearly over as I type this!

Graham grew so much in preschool this year and the month of May showed that perfectly. He was so confident in handing out birthday invitations, so eager for friends to come and to see people, the change in him has been amazing and I’m so proud of him. His preschool program was so cute, and multiple times that day and week Graham started crying about how much he would miss all his preschool friends and his teacher, Miss Tiffany. She was AMAZING, the perfect teacher to help Graham thrive. He learned so much and Kindergarten will be a great step for him!

Wells had his music class and his recital was this month, and he was an absolute doll. He hammed it up, wasn’t sure about singing, but eventually decided he was all for it. We enjoyed ice cream after which was probably Wells favorite part!

We welcomed May and summer with a trip to Thanksgiving Point to see all the beautiful tulips. The boys were in heaven hanging with Grandma!

We enjoyed a mild May with lots of time outside, lots of reading, video games, and celebrating. We had our first Cherry Hill trip and Randy came with me to run a half marathon! I was SO proud of myself and had the best supporters with my family, friends, and Randy. May was one to remember!

April

Randy went on a business trip the week after Easter so the boys and I ate out, had movie nights, and went on a super fun hike with our friends! The boys had so much fun exploring, eating snacks, and Wells was a champ being carried.

I got to celebrate a friends 30th birthday with a 90’s themed party that was SO cute.

Graham had his end of year art show for his art class and he did SUCH a beautiful job with all his artwork this year. It’s so cool to watch him learn and find things he loves. And we LOVE Miss Kenzie!

I’ve been trying new kinds of cooking and really loving making Thai food lately! We also had a cream puff bakeoff which was so much fun!

Randy ran the Salt Lake City Half Marathon and did SO good! He finished in 1:39 and had a 7:22 per mile pace. I am SO proud and so obsessed with him. He’s so incredible!

The boys are growing up too fast. Wells can talk your ear off, can count, knows some colors, and has LOTS of opinions. Graham can read and do math, is riding his three wheeler around, loves to scooter, and is too smart. Both of these boys are so fun and we are so lucky that our family is so fun!

General Conference and Easter

We had such a beautiful General Conference weekend and then Easter weekend!

The boy loved celebrating Women’s History Month in March with cool shirts with amazing women on them!

General Conference weekend meant lots of playing with cousins, eating delicious food, and fun workbook activities.

Easter was the BEST. We colored eggs with Grandma and Grandpa at our house and Dad made his famous themed ones, choosing a Mario/Smash Brothers/Video Game theme that the boys LOVED.

Our neighborhood Easter egg hunt went really well, with over 60 kids and a pancake breakfast! Randy cooked eggs while Maddy helped with the Primary! The boys found lots of eggs and our cute balloon backdrop that a friend made was a hit! The Richards family dinner and egg hunt was so fun and Graham and Wells love seeing their cousins and their grandparents. Everyone always has to have Milanos and Pringles every time we go to Grammy and Grampy’s too which is so fun!

On Easter Morning the Easter Bunny brought SO many goodies, including a brand new CAR for the boys! Chalk, bubbles, and plenty of candy too. The boys were in heaven! After church where Graham sang, we went to the Lows for a fun Easter Egg hunt! Tons of candy and toys there for everyone to enjoy, and a delicious dinner. Wells wanted to be in the shed with Grandpa, jamming to music, while the adults played frisbee.

During the week of Easter we talked about Holy Week, and I got to do my favorite thing and wash the boys feet while we talk about Jesus and how He did that too. It’s always a time of beautiful reflection as I ponder the Savior I have come to know, and how much I love Him. I feel so lucky to understand more about His love than I ever have before.
