My Birthday!

I had the BEST birthday week. I ran 28 miles in the week leading up to my birthday which was INCREDIBLE. I’m SO proud of myself. I’m not as fast as I’d like to be yet, but I am faster than I thought I would be and I did it! Randy and the boys came with me a few times which was so fun.

The day before my birthday Randy brought a TON of pastries home and we enjoyed yummy food to do “birthday eve” which Randy and I are ALL about.

On my birthday Randy worked from home and that morning gave me the most BEAUTIFUL Tiffany ring. He talked about how we used to play a game called 4 years and daydream about where we would be in 4 years. We imagined him being home from his mission, us being married, us having kids, a house. And Randy teared up as he said “For the first time I don’t want to play 4 years. We still have big goals and dreams, but I’m super happy right here, where we are.” And I cried. He’s the sweetest person.

We worked that day and had a relaxing time with the boys, and then Graham had a soccer game! He is SO cute at soccer. He runs around, playing Spider-Man while he’s trying to kick the ball. He scored a goal in the wrong goal and was SO proud of himself for scoring. He’s just adorable and I’m obsessed with him.

Then this weekend we went to Valters Osteria for the most DELICIOUS dinner I’ve ever had. It was absolutely incredible. Pasta, bread, tomatoes and burrata, tiramisu, gilato, dipping chocolate. I’m obsessed! We won’t go back for a LONG time because it was so expensive, but it was delicious!

I’m so happy with life and I love our boys, our house that’s being built, just everything is wonderful and I’m super lucky.

First Day of Preschool

Graham started preschool! I am so insanely proud of him. The day before preschool started he was so nervous. Did not want to go, was crying, and I was SO worried he would lose it on that day. He was nervous the morning of school and said he would rather stay home with me. We talked about how we’d been to the open house and it was fun, about how he should give it a try…

We took some pictures and he was EXCITED. He wanted to get in the car and then when we pulled up to school, he said “Mom I’m ready.” I helped him get out, and he marched up the stairs. So brave. I was SO proud I broke into tears.

He’s loving school already and I’m so happy he loves it so much

September

It’s September! My favorite month of the year! BIRTHDAY MONTH.

Graham and Wells are the cutest brothers and I love spending slow mornings playing with them.

I also have been running this week! It’s birthday week and I made a goal a while ago to run 28 miles during my birthday week, to celebrate turning 28! It’s been super great so far, and hard because I’m just barely postpartum. But it’s been awesome!

Beth’s birthday was September 1 so we celebrated by getting nails done, shopping downtown, and eating at Pleiku. It was so fun to be together with my sisters and get to hang out!

Work is crazy and fun and life is crazy and fun. I’m super happy and we feel so lucky!

2 months old

I can’t believe Wells is TWO MONTHS OLD. He’s the sweetest, best baby and we are so insanely lucky to have him. He weighs 11 lbs 11 oz, is 22 inches long, is still a GREAT eater and sleeps 8-10 hours at night which mom is OBSESSED about. He rarely cries, is starting to get interested in things around him, has started to smile and laugh, but usually has a very inquisitive look on his face. He and Graham are little pals and it makes me so happy. We can’t remember what our life was like without him!

And the house is coming along! All wrapped up with all the walls inside, it’s starting to feel so real and I can’t believe it!

Summer Love

I can’t believe how fast time has flown this summer. We’re so lucky to have had the best summer with lots of trips to Cherry Hill, lots of time with cousins, driving by our new house being built, lots of new recipes, tons of weddings for our cousins, and more. We’ve been super busy with work, figuring out things for the new house, and loving the warm weather while it is still here.

Soccer boy

I can’t believe Graham is finally old enough to play soccer! I was worried how he would do for his first time and he was honestly amazing! He was excited to go meet his coach and the other kids. He was nervous about all the kids crowding around the ball but he did get a few kicks in and started warming up the longer he was in. Randy and I both suddenly turned into THOSE parents, yelling so loud at him to run and get the ball. It was amazing.

We’ve been loving having 2 boys, back to normal life and figuring out our new routines. Graham is doing SO good with his brother and I’m so proud of him. Wells is gaining weight SO fast and is such a good baby, I can’t believe how lucky we are!

Summer Fun and House Framed

We’ve been having such a fun summer, I can’t believe it’s coming to an end! Graham and Wells are SO cute together it makes my heart so happy. Graham loves to come in and sit in bed with us in the morning and he and Wells smile and babble.

First smile caught on camera!

Graham also is loving singing All Creatures of our God and King with Grandma and the fun folder she made. It’s so cute!

And our house is framed! We did our architectural walkthrough to make sure everything was right and it’s looking incredible. I can’t believe how fast it’s moving and how soon it will be ours! It’s wild! Our cute builder wrote a note to us on the wall and told us to go through and write some of our own notes to be inside the walls of our home, which was so awesome. Two of our family mottos are “Don’t be pathetic” which makes me laugh, and “Trust God and believe in good things to come.” So of course, both of those went on the walls. We wrote the boys names in their rooms and I know it will be so wonderful to have that as we live here.

Cool for the summer

Back at it! Cherry Hill has been so fun with Graham while I’ve been on maternity leave! Wells stays and chills with Dad and Graham and I go down the Double Dragon slide a million times. It’s the best!

These boys are the cutest and I’m so lucky to have a life with them. Maternity leave ends on Monday and I’m just so grateful for our family and the fun times we have had, and the adventure that is really just beginning!

One Month of Wells

Our sunshine boy is one month old and I’m not sure how the time is going so fast!

Wells is about 10 lbs (we’ll get an official weight at his appointment) and is 20.5 inches long. He’s growing like a weed!

He’s in newborn clothing and size one diapers, for now!

A fantastic sleeper who goes right back down after eating in his bassinet. Seriously, the greatest.

He’s so chill—family members joke that they have never heard him make a sound and it’s true! He has cried a handful of times in the car when it’s parked and he’s annoyed.

He loves Graham and is starting to smile at his voice, as well as mom and dad’s.

He’s pretty into bath time which always makes us laugh.

He’s the sweetest boy and we are so lucky he’s ours!

Blessed

The rest of the family went to Yellowstone and we had a relaxing few days just hanging out as a family of 4! We went to the trampoline park, Cherry Hill, had movie nights, went out to eat, and just had a great time together.

Right before Ben and Kim went back to California, we had Wells blessing! It was a very small, family gathering and it was just perfect. We had cake and ice cream and Reed’s chocolate milk, Randy gave Wells a beautiful blessing, and it was a special evening for our family.
